I loved the first Zrakon's Shifters book, so when I saw this one I definitely wanted to check it out. And I must say, it was really really good!It starts off very differently, which was interesting. I really enjoyed the lore in this book, with how the dragon-shifters do things, and how others secretly interact with them. The whole thing has a sort of secret society feel to it, which is intriguing and mysterious, and also a lot of fun.
The story as a whole is wonderful, too. Like the blurb says, it's got an interesting and different sort of "Beauty and the Beast" feel to it, which I enjoyed a lot. I don't think I could ever pass up a sexy man in a kilt, either!
The relationships in this book (all of them, not just the romantic one) are wonderfully written, too. It's very real in a sense, even though the book deals with some rather intense paranormal aspects. I wanted to learn more about Colin, and I liked his sort of hanging back from his desires even though his need for a mate is potentially clouding his judgement. Ariane was really interesting, too. Kind of aloof and mysterious at first, but I liked her a lot and wanted everything to work out.
Highly recommended, though! If you're a fan of shifter romance or highland romance, then this is a wonderful combination of the two. It's an easy read that packs a lot of punch, and the emotions it evokes are really special.

It was okay. There wasn't really that much of a story and not enough time to really get into it. It was reasonably good reading if you wanted to pass a bit of time but lacked the glue to want more straight away. Still I wouldn't say it wasn't enjoyable.
Weather it be man or beast this off world traveler has found the one who makes her feel like he's more than enough for her. Same dreams of travel learning new things people, places just love the learning. Will be interesting as they return to Ariane's world to set her sea Dragon free for retirement.
I read The Zrakon's Curse in a box set and I absolutely loved it. It was such a different kind of story than I expected. It showed shifters and highlanders in a whole new way. The backstory was excellent and I love the way our character's immediately felt the pull to each other. After I finished reading this one then I had to buy the first book and read it. These books do not have to be read in order. I can not wait to read the next one in this series.
I really loved this book! To learn more of the other world and for her to learn about them. It was great to have Ross and Kate back in the story. We see a lot more of the 2 brothers, Cameron and Colin. Colin is an awesome guy and has learned how to shift into a zrakon. It helps when he meets the traveler. There are a lot of secrets that come out and big surprises. But oh the love scenes are wonderful too!! I had to read it in one sitting. You have to read The Zrakons Bride then this. I LOVED both books and consider them a must read. Great stories!
It's not your usual brand of paranormal and shifters. Oh no, it's insanely hotter and way more original. You get dragons and sea creatures! But beyond the intricate and well-built world, there's a very intense romance between Ariane and Colin which left me literally panting. The Scottish Highlands setting gave this timeless classiness to this book and I really enjoyed the brother-against-brother suspenseful plot. Linda Barlow definitely has a winner on her hands. If you're into other-dimension fantasy romance, get it now.
Colin is such a sweetheart and protective of those who he cares so much for. Ariane she's a Traveler who is from another dimension but due to being attacked with her sea Dragon are now separated with her sea Dragon badly injured as well as being now in our world. Which brings suspicion that she's a spy. Colin discovers her and sparks begin between them. Yet other things are not as they seem and are uncovered to the surprise of Colin. While the two main characters are enjoying each other and their being mates. I'm recommending you see what happens and enjoy.😍😍😍😍😍
I've read quite a few books by Linda Barlow and I'm never disappointed in both the quality of the writing and the storytelling, she weaves a wonderful story. I don't normally read these types of stories, but I make the exception for this author, she's one of the best at world building. This is the second book in the Scotland shifter series and it's as good if not better then the first.
The connection between the characters is beautifully written. There's a push/pull dynamic between the characters but there's no denying the chemistry. The hero is a perfect alpha. Loved this story and can't wait for more.
